Players will be divided into balanced teams, receive uniform shirts, and play games against their friends! The league will run for 12 weeks on Saturday mornings beginning on December 1st at McCall Middle School. Please note that players registered for Travel Basketball are NOT eligible to participate in the recreational league. The registration deadline is November 29, 2018. Parent volunteers are appreciated.
Travel Basketball - Grades 6th thru 8th - Boys and Girls
Winchester travel basketball teams will compete against teams of similar ability in the MetroWest League. Click here to access the Metrowest site. Most competition will occur in and around Middlesex County. For teams that play in the top division of the MetroWest League, the competition may include teams from other areas in Massachusetts. Winchester travel teams involve a commitment by players to practice 2 evenings each week and to play 2 games per week (4 days total). MetroWest League games are played on Sundays; non-league games are played on Saturdays. Player evaluations for travel basketball begin on October 11th. Team practices will begin in November and travel games will begin the weekend of December 1st-2nd. The season concludes with a playoff tournament in early March. Travel players exhibit a wide range of experience and ability. Multiple teams per grade will be formed so that players interested in travel and willing to make the time commitment can play and improve.
